Their friend had a CT scan of their head. That’s CPT code 70450 without contrast or 70460 with contrast.

Insurance paid $3,000 of the $5,000 charge.
The friend was left with a $2,000 bill.

For a service that costs about $1,000-$1,200 if you pay cash. (I’ll put BILLY screenshots in the comments.)

Friends don’t let friends “negotiate” a rate that’s 500% higher than cash.
